1. The petitioner intends to obtain electric connection in the room purchased by him and mutated in his name. The application for obtaining new service connection was made by the petitioner.

2. The learned advocate representing CESC Ltd. submits, upon instruction that, the petitioner may be provided with a new loop meter inside his room upon compliance of all necessary formalities.

3. The service connection will be in the same manner as was enjoyed by the previous owner of the same room.

4. It has been brought to the notice of the Court that the petitioner is yet to make an application for new meter.

5. It will be open for the petitioner to apply for new meter.

6. In the event such an application is made, the same shall be considered by CESC Limited in accordance with law at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

7. CESC Ltd shall intimate the petitioner the formalities that he is required to comply for obtaining the new meter. The meter board shall be installed in the portion enjoyed by the petitioner.

8. The writ petition stands disposed of.

9. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
