Bannerjee Mr. Arnab Saha ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Ranadeb Sengupta Ms. Debjani Sahu ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for one year four months and, till date, charges have not been framed.

Learned advocate for the State, on the other hand, submits that the recovery, in the present case, is 3.476 kg of brown sugar along with arms being recovered. Additionally, it has been submitted that initially, charge-sheet was submitted under the provisions of the NDPS Act, subsequently, Supplementary Charge-sheet has been submitted in the Arms Act.

Having considered the offence, particularly, the quantum of seizure, I am of the view that the rigors of

Section 37 of the NDPS Act is attracted, as such, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 1512 of 2025 is dismissed. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
