Allowed that the petitioner is in custody for 136 days and charge-sheet has been submitted before the jurisdictional court. It has also been contended that out of a family dispute the incident cropped up. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and produces the medical documents.

I have considered the medical documents which primarily reflect that on an intoxicated condition the petitioner with a deadly weapon slashed on the nape of the neck of the brother of the present petitioner.

Be that as it may, since the charge-sheet has already been submitted before the jurisdictional court, I am of the opinion that further detention of the petitioner is not required although the offence which has been alleged is a serious offence. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is allowed.

Accordingly, the petitioner, namely, Ramesh Mukherjee shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- each, one of whom must be local to the satisfaction of the learned ACJM, Chandernagore.

If on bail, the petitioner shall stay outside the jurisdiction of ACJM, Chandernagore and will enter the sub-division only for the limited purposes of attending the court proceedings. Petitioner shall be physically present on each and every date of trial. Till further orders, petitioner shall once in a week attend the Inspector-inCharge of Haripal Police Station or any Officer delegated by him. With the aforesaid observations, CRM (M) 2472 of 2025 is allowed.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
