The grievance of the petitioner is directed against non-supply of a new electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner.

Pursuant to earlier orders of Court, WBSEDCL has filed a Report. It appears from the Report that the only objection has been filed by one Joydeb Koley against installation of a pole for effecting the above connection.

It is submitted on behalf of the private respondent that the electricity line would be drawn over the land of the private respondent and the same would constitute nuisance, annoyance and harassment.

In view of the above, the private respondent opposes the prayer made on behalf of the petitioner.

After considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the Report dated 27th January, 2026, WPA 26906 of 2025 stands disposed of by permitting the WBSEDCL to carry out the above construction for effecting a fresh electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner.

This order is passed on the submission made on behalf of WBSEDCL that no electricity connection would be drawn over the land of the private respondent and that no electric pole would be constructed.

The concerned police officer of the local police station is directed to render all police assistance, the cost of which is to be borne exclusively by the petitioner. The above exercise is to be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of passing of this order.
