Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the husband of the alleged victim. The other co-accused/in-laws were granted anticipatory bail by the Sessions Court, while the petitioner's pray for anticipatory bail was turned down. The marriage took place one year before the registration of FIR. A child was born of the wedlock. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail. He submits that while the victim was pregnant with another child, she was assaulted by the petitioner and the others.

Considering the other incriminating materials available in the case diary including the statements of neighbours, the victim and the injury report, I do not consider this to be a fit case for granting anticipatory bail.

Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail is rejected. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
