The present writ petition has been preferred with certain vague prayers to the effect that a Writ of Mandamus be issued commanding the respondent, their agents and servants to take steps to protect the right of property of the petitioner with immediate effect without indicating as to in what manner the petitioner is seeking to protect such right and, if so, what right.

Be that as it may, the learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that a grievance has been lodged before respondent no. 4, the District Magistrate and Collector, Murshidabad, with regard to alleged encroachment of the petitioner's

land by the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL).

All contentions, however, are denied by learned counsel for the Distribution Licensee. In view of the innocuous nature of the prayer made, no further service of notice is directed to the respondent nos. 4 to 6.

WPA No. 26925 of 2022 is disposed of with the expectation that respondent no. 4, the District Magistrate and Collector, Murshidabad, shall decide the representation, if any, filed by the petitioner before the said respondent, as expeditiously as possible.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent Photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
