This is an application for expeditious disposal of a criminal case being BGR No. 3495/2018 under Section 498A/406 of the Indian Penal Code read with Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The above-mentioned case is pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 10th Court at Alipore. The petitioners are the accused persons of the said case. It is submitted by the learned Advocate for the petitioners that the de facto complainant lodged a written complaint on 4th August, 2018 before the Officer-in-Charge of Bishnupur Police Station and Case No. 571/2018 was registered. Subsequently, on completion of investigation Police submitted charge-sheet

against the accused on 31st May, 2020 under Sections 498A/406 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

It is the grievance of the petitioners that till date charge has not been framed against the accused persons. The learned Trial Judge is fixing the date of hearing after a gap of eight months on an average. Therefore, trial of the case is being delayed and the petitioners are harassed.

Under such circumstances, the instant revision is disposed of directing the learned Trial Judge to frame charge against the accused persons positively on the next date. All the accused persons are directed to be present in Court on the next date of hearing. After framing of charge, the learned Trial Judge shall take all endeavour to conclude examination of witnesses within three months thereafter.

With the above direction, the instant revision is disposed of.
