This is an application for expeditious disposal of a criminal case being ACGR No. 6031/2019 under Section 498A/34 of the Indian Penal Code read with Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The above-mentioned case is pending before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate at Alipore. The petitioner is the accused persons of the said case. It is submitted by the learned Advocate for the petitioner that the de facto complainant lodged a written complaint on 17th December, 2019 before the Officer-in-Charge of Netaji Nagar Police Station and Case No. 461/2019 was registered. Subsequently, on completion of investigation Police submitted charge-sheet

against the accused on 21st June, 2021 under Sections 498A/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

It is the grievance of the petitioner that till date charge has not been framed against the accused person. The learned Trial Judge is fixing the date of hearing after a long gap. Therefore, trial of the case is being delayed and the petitioner is harassed.

Under such circumstances, the instant revision is disposed of directing the learned Trial Judge to frame charge against the accused person positively on the next date. The accused person is directed to be present in Court on the next date of hearing. After framing of charge, the learned Trial Judge shall take all endeavour to conclude examination of witnesses within three months thereafter.

With the above direction, the instant revision is disposed of.
