Ms. Koyeli Bhattacharyya ... For the WBBSE. The petitioner is an approved Assistant Teacher in the subject Bengali at Lakhsya High School, District - Purba Medinipur. He was successful in the Selection Test of 2017 for filling up the vacancies in the post of Headmaster in Government-aided schools and was accordingly recommended for such appointment, in pursuance thereof, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education had issued the appointment letter but the petitioner due to various reasons did not join to the recommended school.

The petitioner thereafter filed a writ petition being W.P.A. 9044 of 2022 for a direction upon the concerned respondents to give him such appointment in another school.

The said writ petition and the appeal therefrom were dismissed.

The petitioner in the instant writ petition is alleging that it has come to his knowledge that all the vacancies in relation to the selection process of 2017 has not yet been filled up, as such he is praying that he may be re-recommended for appointment against any of the said vacancies.

The panel prepared on the basis of the result of the selection process of 2017 has expired long back as such there is no scope for consideration of the prayer of the petitioner for appointment in the post of Headmaster, even if the alleged vacancies exist. In view of the above, W.P.A. 25999 of 2023 is dismissed without any order as to costs.
