Learned counsel for the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is an Assistant Professor in Political Science under the OBC(A) category at the Raja Narendralal Khan Women's College, Midnapore. He has already served five years in such capacity. He has an aged, ailing father and his daughter, who is aged about five years, now has to stay away from him in the care of her grant parents. On 11.01.2022 the petitioner made the first representation before the Director of Public Instructions seeking transfer to a college near his place of residence. Thereafter, several representations were made in this regard, but none were responded to.

Learned counsel for the State submits that in the event the said representation in this regard is pending consideration, the same would be decided expeditiously and in accordance with law.

In view of the above, let the respondent DPI consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.01.2022 seeking transfer upon granting an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other concerned parties, if any, in accordance with law and as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order.

It is clarified that the merits of the case have not been gone into.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

Parties shall act on a server copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of requisite formalities.
