The present writ petition arises out of an order dated 10th September, 2024 passed in the Original Application (in short, OA), being OA 942 of 2011. By the said order, the learned Tribunal adjourned the matter granting leave to the petitioners to produce documents by the next date fixed and the matter was made returnable on 6th March, 2025.
Mr. Hossain, learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that some of the petitioners are senior citizens and they are languishing before the learned Tribunal since the year 2011. In view thereof, necessary direction may be issued for expeditious disposal of the OA.
Mr. T. M. Siddiqui, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the State respondents, however, submits that the OA was adjourned at the instance of the
petitioners since they did not produce the documents upon which they wanted to place reliance.
Mr. Sarkar, learned advocate enters appearance on behalf of the respondent nos. 7 (i to iv) and 9. We have heard the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties and considered the materials on record.
It appears from the records that the matter was adjourned on more than one occasion granting leave to the petitioners to produce documents.
This Court cannot issue direction for speedy disposal unless there is a justification or acceptable reason for issuing any such direction.
The matter has already been made returnable for further hearing on 6th March, 2025. In view thereof, no interference is called for in the present writ petition and the same is, accordingly, disposed of.
