Allowed that the petitioner is in custody for 4 months and charge-sheet has already been submitted in connection with the instant case. Learned advocate for the State has produced the case diary and has submitted that the diary of the deceased which has been seized has been sent for forensic examination. The very fulcrum of the prosecution of the case is humiliation and betrayal by the present accused person for which allegedly the deceased committed suicide. There are allegations of demand of money for marrying the deceased who had relationship with the present petitioner.

Having considered the period of detention of the petitioner and the fact that the present case at this stage is based

only on documents, I am of the view that further detention of the petitioner is unwarranted. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is allowed.

Accordingly, the petitioner, namely, Suraj Das shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- each, one of whom must be local to the satisfaction of the learned ACJM, Durgapur.

If on bail, the petitioner shall make himself available before the court in seisin of the case and shall not leave the jurisdiction of the district of Paschim Bardhaman without the prior permission of the court in seisin of the case. Additionally, petitioner shall meet with the investigating officer of the case once in a fortnight till further orders of this Court.

Accordingly, CRM(M) 2518 of 2025 is allowed.
