And In Re : Biplab Das ...... petitioner Ms. Sananda Bhattacharya ....for the petitioner Ms. Faria Hossain, Ms. Momata Jana ...for the State Petitioner before us is the husband.

The de facto complainant implicates the petitioner of not only assault but torturing her on demand for dowry. She speaks of her continuous torture and demand for dowry. Considering the gravity of the offence and complicity of the petitioner in the incident, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner and the prayer for anticipatory bail is rejected.

The application being C.R.M.(A) 5083 of 2023 is dismissed.
