The petitioner has preferred the present writ petition being aggrieved by the inaction of the respondent authorities whereby they failed to grant domestic service connection to the petitioner for his residential premises being number B/3D/H/1 Bengalee Shawarsee Lane, Kolkata - 700 023.

It is the case of the petitioner that he has applied for the domestic service connection by reference no. 02/10566/24. The respondent/CESC Authorities has conducted an inspection on 8th July, 2024. Despite the same, the respondent authorities has failed to grant electricity connection to the petitioner.

The learned advocate for the respondent authorities submits that they are ready to grant electricity connection to the Petitioner within a period of four weeks subject to the petitioner paying all the necessary charges and complying with all the required formalities.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the Petitioner shall be complying with all the required formalities and making the payments within the said

period. Learned counsel further states that the petitioner will render all the necessary assistance to the respondent no. 2 while installing the electricity meter.

Learned counsel for the respondent authorities states that they will be requiring the police assistance as they are anticipating hindrance while carrying out the said work.

Learned counsel for the petitioner refutes the same.

At this stage, this Court does not deem it appropriate to give any direction for the police assistance.

In view thereof, the present writ petition stands disposed of without any order as to costs. (Gaurang Kanth, J.)
