The petitioner approached this Court by filing this writ application seeking direction upon the respondents including the respondent no.3, the Chairman, Hooghly District Primary School Council to permit the petitioner to appear for the written examination to be held on 21st December, 2009 along with other candidates for being selection in the post of Primary Teachers in order of merits and other consequential reliefs.

None appears on behalf of the either of the parties. No accommodation is sought for.

This case is pending since 2009. Almost 16 years have been elapsed.

Considering the nature of prayer and long pendency it seems to this Court that either the petitioner's purpose has been served or the petitioner abandoned his prayer. Furthermore due to the passage of time, this instant writ petition has become infructuous.

In view of the above backdrop, the writ petition being WPA 22079 of 2009 is, thus, dismissed without any order as to costs.

Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
