Report submitted by the State is taken on record. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that following ruckus in connection with a cricket match in the locality, the petitioner and her family members were assaulted by local goons and was compelled to leave their residence. The petitioner lodged a complaint before the concerned police station pursuant to which the police took up the matter and the petitioner has been able to return to her residence. The petitioner seeks intervention of the police so that she is able to reside there peacefully without any disturbance or fear whatsoever.
Learned counsel for the State submits that there are cases and counter cases filed by and between the parties which are being investigated by the police.
Since the police authority has acted in terms of the complaints lodged by the petitioner and others, the police is directed to keep strict vigil over the area in order to ensure that no untoward incident takes place and to
maintain peace and tranquility so that the petitioner and her family members are able to reside in their house peacefully. It is expected that the petitioner also shall not create any disturbance in the locality.
With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to have been admitted. There shall however, be no order as to costs. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
