Allowed that from the joint possession of petitioner and another 20.887 kgs. of ganja were recovered. Petitioner is in custody for 11 months, investigation has been concluded and charges have been framed by the learned special court.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

Having considered the period of detention of the present petitioner, I am of the opinion that further detention of the petitioner is unwarranted.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is allowed. The petitioner namely, Sankar Mondal @ Rajib @ Shankar Mondal shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) with two sureties of

Rs.10,000/- each, one of whom must be local to the satisfaction of the learned Additional Sessions Judge, 4th Court, Alipore. If on bail, the petitioner shall not leave the jurisdiction of the district of 24 Parganas (South) and shall be physically present on each and every date fixed by the learned trial court.

Accordingly, CRM (NDPS) 1537 of 2025 is allowed. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
