Petitioners approached this Court as there was a grievance which was addressed to Kalighat Police Station that certain persons claiming themselves to be police officers manhandled the employees of the petitioners and also searched the offices of the petitioners.

State has submitted a report. Report reflects that on the basis of the information so furnished to the police station, police officers conducted an enquiry as an NGO was functioning without any proper documents, no FIR was registered at the relevant point of time and such enquiry was conducted on or about 29th July, 2024. It has been pointed out by the learned advocate appearing for the

State that on 31st July, 2024, the petitioner applied for registration.

In view of the steps taken by the police authorities and no overt acts being specifically pointed out, I am of the opinion that the police authorities acted in consonance with the provisions of law. No interference is called for by this Court at this stage.

Consequently, WPA 27576 of is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.

A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioners. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
