Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners entered into an agreement for sale of the property in question with the vendor who subsequently sold out the property to the private respondent. The petitioners allege that the original agreement for sale has been taken by the police without a formal seizure. The petitioners seek protection.

Learned counsel for the private respondents submits that the private respondents along with many other intending purchasers have been duped of huge amount of money by the petitioners and others who are land brokers and have executed a forged power of attorney and have proceeded to sell the property to various purchasers. Learned counsel for the State submits that no document has been received from the petitioners.

It appears from the report submitted by the State that the owner of the property Soma Laha lodged complaint before the police authority against several persons including the private respondent alleging impersonation, execution of fraudulent deed of sale and transfer of her share of land. Preliminary enquiry is in progress and relevant documents pertaining to the complaint are being collected.

The allegation appears to be extremely serious in nature. Preliminary enquiry is in progress. The police authority shall take necessary steps, in accordance with law.

In the meantime, the police authority shall keep strict vigil over the area so that no untoward incident occurs. The police shall also ensure maintenance of peace and tranquility in the area.

With the above observations and directions this writ petition is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
