1. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he is in custody for more than two years. It is further submitted there is slow progress in trial. He has been falsely implicated in the instant case. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

2. Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

3. We have considered the materials on record. We have also examined the evidence of the victim. She stated petitioner was known to her. He administered deleterious substance in a cold drink and raped. Thereafter she was blackmailed with her objectionable pictures and money was demanded from her. Her deposition corroborates the prosecution case. Trial is in progress. Under such circumstances and in view of gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
