The petitioner asserts that they are a tenant of the building in question. Today has been fixed for the execution of the demolition work by the Howrah Municipal Corporation.

Considering the stand taken by the petitioner before this Court, I find no compelling reason to keep this writ petition pending. The petitioner has undertaken to vacate the premises within six months from the date of this order.

In light of this undertaking, and without addressing any other issues, I hereby dispose of this writ petition by restraining the Corporation from carrying out the demolition work for a period of six months from the

date hereof. After the expiration of this six-month period, the Corporation shall be at liberty to proceed with the demolition in accordance with the law.

Accordingly, WPA 27664 of 2024 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
