The present revisional application has been filed for expeditious disposal of Sessions Trial Case No.53/2023 arising out of Behala Police Station Case No.535/2010 under Section 498A/306/302/34, pending before the learned Additional Sessions Judge, 3rd Court, Alipore.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that FIR was lodged in 2010 and the charge-sheet was filed in 2011. He also submits that charge-sheet was framed only in 2023. However, till date, not even a single witness has been examined out of 15 cited witnesses. He also submits that appropriate direction may be issued to the concerned court for expeditious trial.

The legislator itself in its wisdom has provided for the expeditious trial of the criminal cases. Speedy and fair trial is a matter of right. The Court considers no prejudice to either of the parties, if any appropriate direction is issued for expeditious trial.

Hence, the learned Additional Sessions Judge, 3rd Court, Alipore is directed to conduct the trial as expeditiously as possible in accordance with law without granting any unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties. 5.

With the above directions, CRR 5155 of 2025 is disposed of.
