Versus
The State of West Bengal Mr. Mazhar Hossain Chowdhury.
...for the petitioner.
Mr. Arindam Sen Mr. Rajes Jana.
...for the State.
Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 1 year 6 months and on vague accusations petitioner has been detained. On any stringent conditions, the petitioner may be released on bail. Learned advocate for the State submits that the trial of the case has already commenced, two of the witnesses have been examined.
Records of the case reflect that the petitioner was also identified in the T.I. Parade and there are some recoveries. Further, the petitioner has antecedents.
Having considered the stage of the case, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.
Accordingly, CRM(M)2557 of 2025 is dismissed. The learned trial court is directed to complete at least 10
witnesses within the next six months. No unnecessary adjournment be granted to any of the parties. The trial of the case would continue in spite of any resolution of the local bar. Petitioner would be at liberty to renew the prayer for bail after the aforesaid period is over. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
