Petitioner prays for bail on the ground of delay of disposal of the trial.

Petitioner is in custody in excess of two years and fifteen days.

Trial is in progress.

Out of seven prosecution witnesses one was examined in full. Charge-sheet witness nos. 2 and 3 were present before the trial court when the presiding officer was absent.

Report dated February 25, 2025 states that there are three criminal cases as against the petitioner
including one under Section 498B/354C of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Considering such criminal antecedent of the petitioner, the materials on record implicating the petitioner in the present police case, period of detention and the number of prosecution witnesses remaining to be examined, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

At this stage learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that necessary directions be issued for expeditious disposal of the trial.

Learned Trial Judge is requested to endeavour to dispose of the trial as expeditiously as possible. In doing so, the learned Trial Judge will not grant any unnecessary adjournments to any of the parties. 10.
Prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. 11.
C.R.M.(DB) No. 3902 of 2024 is dismissed.
