Pleader Mr. Rudranil Dey, Mr. Supratim Dhar, Advocates ... for the State This writ petition has been filed with the prayer to issue a direction to decide the pending representation dated 02.11.2017 and not to issue further new licence for liquor shop and restaurant-cum-bar to the private respondent Nos.9, 10, 11 and 12.

The plea in the petition is that the petitioners are the villagers of villages under Chhatri Gram Panchayat and Jerthan Gram Panchayat, Egra-I, Purba Medinipur and that in the area concerned there is already a liquor shop. Therefore, new licence is not required. It is alleged that the existing liquor shop is selling liquor to the young boys and girls in violation of the licence condition and if new licence is granted, the same will further be encouraged. Learned counsel for the State fairly submits that there is no objection in deciding the petitioners' representation within the time bound period. It is also pointed out that the licence is granted only for one year. No one is present to prosecute this petition. Hence, we dispose of this petition by directing the respondent No.2 to take an appropriate decision on the

WPA 28707 of 2017 petitioners' pending representation dated 02.11.2017 in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of receipt of the copy of this order, if not already decided.
