The petitioner is appearing in-person.

In this petition the petitioner prays for the following reliefs :- "A) A writ of and / or in the nature of Mandamus by directing the concerned state respondent authorities, including hotel and lodging establishments within the state of West Bengal and across the country, to recognize and accept the identity cards issued by the respective State Bar Councils, including the Bar Councils, including the Bar Council of West Bengal, as valid and legitimate forms of identification accordingly; B) A writ in the nature of Mandamus by directing the concerned authorities to issue guidelines to ensure the implementation of the above directive, facilitating the accommodation and travel of legal professionals who rely on their Bar Council-issued identity cards, thus avoiding unnecessary disclosure of sensitive personal information contained in Aadhar card, PAN card and Voter Id Cards;

The main point canvassed by the petitioner is that the identity cards issued by respondent / State Bar Council may be directed to be accepted at hotels and other agencies so that unnecessary disclosure of sensitive personal information of Aadhar card, PAN card and Voter Id Cards can be avoided.

We do not find any merit in the contention of the petitioner that the issue relating to Aadhar has already been examined by the Hon'ble Supreme Court. There is no enforceable provision which makes it obligatory to issue a writ of mandamus for treating the identity cards issued by State Bar Council for the identity verification by Hotels or other agencies.

The writ petition / PIL is devoid of merits and accordingly stands dismissed.
