Mr. Rana Mukherjee, ld. APP Mr. Sabir Ahmed ... ...For the State This writ petition filed in 2017 contains the complaint that the petitioner's younger brother went missing. It has come up today after being restored following an order of dismissal for default. A report has been laid before us by learned Government Pleader thereby placing before us the information given by the Sub-Inspector of Police, Ranaghat P.S. on 07.12.2020. It delineates the action taken. It shows that there was no complaint levelled against any particular person even by way of suspicion. The due course of action carried by the police after the GD entry was recorded is stated in the report. We take that report on record.

We are satisfied that as of now what is required is that the police will continue with requisite steps though for the time being the person is stated to have not been recovered.

We think this is the proper course of action because the police were able to trace out to

our satisfaction that the missing boy had spoken to his mother and had even mentioned that he was somewhere in Howrah at one point of time.

The writ petition is disposed of by directing the police authorities to continue with requisite steps as are called for in accordance with law to trace out the missing person.

Accordingly, WPA 28724 of 2017 is disposed of.
