Nizamuddin Ms. Barnali Gupta Mr. Arka Roy ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Iqbal Kabir Ms. Debolina Das ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent of the charges and has been falsely implicated in connection with the instant case. It has also been submitted that the investigation of the case has already been concluded, as such, further detention of the present petitioner is unwarranted as the petitioner is the manager of the transport company.

Learned advocate for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and submits that there are CCTV footages which reflect that the petitioner being the manager of the transport company had been managing the loading of the goods at the vehicle which was destined for Tripura

along with the other articles of cartoon which have been recovered. The same were seen by the owners of the transport company, who are the witnesses to the case. There are seizure list witnesses when the interception was made.

Having considered the volume of the contraband which have been seized and the fact that witness action is about to commence, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 1560 of 2025 is dismissed. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
