Though the police complaint was lodged eight years after marriage, it transpires from the materials in the Case Diary that the petitioner assaulted his wife. Medical evidence corroborate the claim of the de facto complainant. Neighbours implicated the petitioner for demanding dowry from the wife and assaulting her with regard to such issues.

Considering the materials in the Case Diary, the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

CRM(A) 5205 of 2023 is rejected.
