Mahapatra Mr. Soumya Nag ...for the Petitioner Since the petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of Sessions Case No. 14(3) of 2020 pending before the learned Sessions Judge, Paschim Medinipur, the matter may be disposed of without service of notice upon the opposite party. The opposite party shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the matter.

This Court is informed that the petitioner is in custody since August 04, 2019. 16 charge sheeted witnesses have been examined and examination of the 1st Investigating Officer is in progress. Inordinate delay in trial of the case has been deliberately caused by the prosecution by not producing witnesses before the learned Trial Court for examination.

In view of the fact that the petitioner is in custody for a considerable period of time and the trial is at its fag end, the learned Trial Court is directed to conclude examination of prosecution witnesses within two months from the next date of hearing fixed before him by fixing dates at least thrice a week. The learned Trial Court shall take all necessary steps to ensure production of witnesses before him for trial. Learned Trial Court shall take the proceedings to its logical conclusion within two months from the date of closure of prosecution evidence.

With the above observations and directions the instant revisional application being CRR No. 4924 of 2024 is disposed of. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
