Report submitted by the SDPO, Rampurhat, Birbhum dated 09.01.2025 reflects that presently no illegal mining activities are being carried out at the specific plot and a strict surveillance is maintained to prevent any illegal activity.

Petitioners apprehend that pursuant to disposal of the writ petition there is every possibility of illegal mining again taking place. In case such illegal mining resumes, petitioners will inform the SDPO, Rampurhat, Birbhum, who would immediately take steps for closure of such illegal mining, if required, by registration of appropriate criminal case. With the aforesaid observations, WPA 27918 of 2024 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report submitted by the State be kept with the record.

A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioners. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
