None appears for the private respondents despite service.

Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioners are the parents of the 5th respondent. This Court is informed that the 6th respondent is the live-in partner of the 5th respondent.

The petitioners allege that the private respondents who are residing in their house are disturbing their peaceful possession therein, threatening and abusing them in filthy language. The petitioners seek police protection. Upon consideration of the submission made on behalf of the parties, this Court is of the view that since the petitioners are the owners of the house in question, the private respondents can at best be termed as licensees under them. The petitioners are at liberty to evict them from the house in due course of law.

In the meantime, the police authority shall render necessary assistance/protection to the petitioners so that they are able to live in their house peacefully and their possession is not disturbed by the private respondents in any manner whatsoever.

In the event the petitioners approach the police authority in this regard, the police shall take immediate steps thereon.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
