The information given pursuant to an application made by the petitioner under Section 6 of the Right to Information Act, 2005 as handed over in Court today is also retained with the records.

It appears from the report filed by the Public Service Commission that after the petitioner's marks were enhanced upon proper assessment, the petitioner was called for interview. In the interview, the petitioner was awarded 25

marks. Therefore, the petitioner was awarded an aggregate of 147 marks [{122 in written test}+{25 in interview}]. The aggregate of 147 obtained by the petitioner is more than the last recommended candidate in the Scheduled Caste category, who obtained 143.33 marks. The petitioner was, therefore, recommended for recruitment to the post of Motor Vehicles Inspector (Non-technical) under the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal pursuant to Advertisement No. 21/2018.

From the reply dated April 28, 2023 by the Assistant Secretary and SPIO, Transport Department, it appears that three vacancies are still available.

Therefore, this Court finds no impediment in appointment of the petitioner to the post of Motor Vehicles Inspector (Non-technical), by the authorities concerned. Upon completion of the requisite formalities, if any, within a week from date, the petitioner will be appointed to the said post within a period of four weeks from date. With the directions aforesaid, W.P.A. 27662 of 2022 is disposed of.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the website of this Court.

Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all the formalities.
