Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 4 years and it has been submitted that only 5 witnesses have been examined by the prosecution till date out of the proposed 17 witnesses to be examined.

Learned advocate for the State submits that two of the accused persons were absconding, as such, there was delay in the trial and charge has only been framed on 16th January, 2024. As there are 17 witnesses proposed to be examined by the prosecution and only 5 witnesses have been examined, I direct the prosecution that 7 more witnesses which will include the independent witnesses and the (post-mortem doctor/medical officers) be completed by 30th April, 2026. So far as the number of

days which are required, I direct that the learned trial court will only allow two dates for examination-in-chief and cross-examination of each of the witnesses. No unnecessary adjournment be granted to any of the parties and the trial of the case would continue in spite of any resolution of the local bar. All the accused are directed not to adopt any dilatory tactics. In spite of such efforts if the directions stated above cannot be complied with, learned trial court would release the petitioner on bail after 30th April, 2026. For the present, CRM(M) 2600 of 2025 is dismissed. Report submitted by the State be kept with the record. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
