This is an application for a direction upon the Trial Court for expeditious disposal of NDPS Case No. 18/2019 under Section 20(b) (ii) of the NDPS Act pending before the learned Additional Sessions Judge-cum-Judge, Special Court (NDPS Act), Hooghly. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he was arrested on 13th August, 2019 on the allegation that he was in possession of narcotic substance of commercial quantity. On conclusion of investigation Police submitted charge-sheet and supplementary charge-sheet on 2nd December, 2019 and 13th December, 2019 respectively. It is further submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the charge was framed against him on 1st March, 2021 fixing 5th April,

2021 for examination of the witnesses. However, till date prosecution failed to examine any witness.

Under such circumstances, the learned Trial Judge is directed to examine all charge-sheeted witnesses within six months from the date of communication of this order and come to logical conclusion of the case within one month thereafter.

With the above direction, the instant revision is disposed of. The petitioner is at liberty to act on the server copy of the order.
