Learned advocate representing the State respondents produces the instruction forwarded by the District Magistrate, South 24 Parganas signed on 5th December, 2023 intimating that 15th December, 2023 has been fixed for election for the post of Pradhan & Upa-Pradhan of Kanthalberia Gram Panchayat.

The respondents are directed to take necessary steps for conducting the election on the scheduled date. Adequate police protection shall be made available at the time of the election.

The Block Development Officer, Basanti Development Block is directed to record the entire process of election and preserve and produce the same before this Court as and when called for.

The instruction forwarded by the District Magistrate, South 24 Parganas signed on 5th December, 2023 be retained with the records.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
