The petitioners approached this Court seeking direction upon the respondents and their subordinates to allow the petitioners to appear before the interview Board/Selection Committee for appointment of Primary Teachers in the district of 24Parganas (South) to be held on and from 20th December, 2009 with other consequential reliefs. 2.

At the time of admission of this application even, no interim order was passed in their favour. A direction was passed to file affidavit-in-opposition and reply thereto vide order dated 18the December, 2009. 3.

However, no affidavit-in-opposition or affidavitin-reply have been filed by the parties. 4.

Considering the nature of prayer and long pendency of this writ petition for 16 years, it seems that the petitioners' problem either being solved or abandoned.

In view of the above backdrop, the writ petition being WPA 22769 of 2009 is, thus, dismissed without any order as to costs.

Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
