And In Re : Saukat Ali @ Saukat Sk. @ Saukat Bhutta .... petitioner Mr. Avinaba Patra ....for the petitioner Mr. Avishek Sinha ...... for the State 1.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits no narcotics was recovered from the possession of the petitioner. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

Learned Counsel for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits large number of miscreants were smuggling narcotics. Police intervened. They were physically assaulted. Investigation is in progress.

We have considered the materials on record. In view of nature of crime and daring act of the accused in assaulting police we are of the opinion release on bail of the petitioner at this stage may hinder progress of investigation. Hence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

4. Application for bail is, thus, rejected.
