The petitioner contends that the petitioner applied for electricity connection and complied with formalities, but no electricity connection was given to operate the petitioner's submersible pump. Initially there were certain hitches due to the field being submerged. Subsequently, an inspection was held.

However, learned counsel for the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) submits that it was also intimated to the petitioner on November 29, 2023 (a copy of which communication is handed over and kept on record) that the inspection revealed that no submersible pump was installed, earthing was not completed and the construction was

incomplete, apart from the meter and meter box not being identified, wiring not being completed and Way Leave permission required as per FormA not being furnished. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner assures that the submersible pump has been installed in the meantime and other formalities shall be concluded by the petitioner at the earliest.

Keeping in view such submissions, the writ petition need not be kept needlessly pending. 6.

Accordingly, WPA No. 26726 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the petitioner to complete all formalities in terms of the communication dated November 29, 2023 and write back to the WBSEDCL when such formalities are completed.

Such formalities shall be concluded within a fortnight from date. Upon such communication by the petitioner, the WBSEDCL shall give the connection to the petitioner subject to all formalities being complied with by the petitioner within a fortnight thereafter.

Learned counsel for the WBSEDCL shall hand over a copy of the communication filed in court today to her counterpart appearing for the petitioner during the course of the day.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
