The petitioner contends that the petitioner has not been given electricity connection independently despite having applied for the same.

Upon previous direction, the CESC Limited has held an inspection and a report in that regard is filed today in court and kept on record.

Learned counsel for the CESC Limited points out that there is an existing electricity meter in the name of one Mr. Dilip Das bearing meter no.3200569 standing in the same premises.

All residents of the said building, including the petitioner, are being catered from the said meter. 5.

Hence, the apprehension of splitting of load cannot be ruled out if a new connection is given independently to the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the said Dilip Das is an uncle of the petitioner and the

petitioner is not being favoured with electricity connection from the said meter despite being a coowner. 7.

However, since a specific objection as to splitting of load has been taken by the CESC Limited upon holding an inspection, it would only be appropriate if the proper authority in that regard decides the issue on facts.

Hence, WPA 26742 of 2023 is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) having jurisdiction in the matter with the dispute as raised herein.

If so approached, the GRO shall decide the issue in accordance with law upon hearing all concerned as expeditiously as possible, preferably within four weeks from the date of such approach being made.

10. There will be no order as to costs.

11. Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
