College affiliated to West Bengal University of Teachers' Training Education Planning and Administration, respondent no. 1 (presently known as "Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University". The petitioner no. 1 applied for renewal of affiliation. The last date for submission of application was 30th August, 2022. Admittedly, the petitioner no. 1 though applied on April 19, 2022 for renewal, the said application was not accompanied by required fee of Rs.1 lakh. The petitioner no. 1 made a representation for acceptance of the belatedly deposit of fees. The University declined.

It is not in dispute that the petitioner no. 1 is affiliated to the University for last four years. Mr. Amitabrata Roy, learned advocate appearing for the University vehemently opposes the prayer. He submits that the academic session has already started from the month of October, 2022. At this juncture, if

the students are allowed to be admitted, they will not be in a position to complete the 90 days semester. I am of the view that keeping in mind the interest of the students of the College, the belated application of the petitioner no. 1 should be considered by the University.

Accordingly, this writ petition being WPA 27849 of 2022 is disposed of with a direction upon the University to accept the fees of Rs.1 lakh within three days from date. The petitioner no. 1 will pay a sum of Rs. 20,000/- to the University as a cost for inconvenience caused to the University for the belated approach by the petitioner no. 1. Since the portal of the University does not accept belated payment, the petitioner no. 1 will be at liberty to make such deposits manually. If such deposits are made within three days from date, the University will consider the application for renewal in accordance with law.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
