The petitioner's wife went missing on 19.08.2023. It appears that she left the matrimonial home even leaving her 1 1⁄2 year old daughter. On the very same day, he lodged a complaint being Panskura Police Station GD Entry No. 1118 dated 19.08.2023 in this regard. On the next day, some relatives of the wife forcibly entered his house took away the gold ornaments of the wife and some cash. The petitioner notified the police, but no FIR was registered. The parents in law also took away the minor daughter of the petitioner. But, on a complaint made by the parents of the victim wife, an FIR was registered against the petitioner being Panskura Police Station Case No. 646 dated 07.09.2023 under Sections 498A, 363 and 365 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The

petitioner is unnecessarily being harassed with this case, although he had complained about going missing of his wife much earlier.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits as follows. Steps have been taken during investigation of the case. After prolonged and continuous efforts, a credible data in respect of some suspected mobile numbers could be developed and the present whereabouts of the victim has been fixed in the State of Rajasthan. Raids would soon be held there to recover the lady.

It appears that the police are having some clues now and are trying to track the location of the petitioner's wife. Let the investigation of the case continue under the supervision of the concerned SDPO.

Let the investigation be concluded expeditiously and in accordance with law.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
