The disputes in this writ petition pertain to insertion of the name of the petitioner as a licensee after the death of her deceased husband Late Prafulla Kumar Saha, who expired on 31st March, 2013.

It is submitted on behalf of the respondent/CESC Limited that there are serious issues of fraud and forgery involved in the application for a separate meter. There are rival claims between the legal heirs and the same can only be adjudicated before a Civil Court.

Without prejudice to the rights and contentions of the parties, in view of the submissions made on behalf of the petitioner, WPA 26841 of 2023 stands disposed of by granting the petitioner Chandrayee Saha liberty to

file an application afresh for an electric connection at the subject premises.

If such application is filed within a week from date, the same would be considered strictly in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the application. (Ravi Krishan Kapur, J.)
