Petitioner is in custody for 230 days. He submits incident occurred in the course of a sudden quarrel amongst family members. He prays for bail.

Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for bail. We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses show petitioner had assaulted the victim with a knife. Number of injuries are noted in the post mortem report. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
