Learned Counsel for the petitioners submit victim was given in marriage against her will. Out of depression she committed suicide. They are in-laws of the victim lady and pray for anticipatory bail.

Learned Counsel for the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail.

We have considered the statements of the witnesses. Witnesses stated petitioner no. 2, mother-in-law demanded dowry and tortured the victim. In view of the specific allegations levelled against her we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner no. 2.

Accordingly, prayer for anticipatory bail in so far as petitioner no. 2 concerned is rejected.

Allegations against other in-laws i.e. petitioners no. 1, 3 and 4 are general and omnibus. Hence, we are inclined to grant anticipatory bail to them.

Accordingly, we direct that in the event of arrest, petitioners no. 1) Manik Singha, 3) Suparna Singha, and 4) Mousumi Singha Das shall be released on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs. 10,000/- each, with two sureties of like amount each, to the satisfaction of the arresting officer and also subject to the conditions as laid down under section 482(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and on condition that they shall appear before the jurisdictional court and pray for regular bail within a period of four weeks from date. 7.
