CRR 5001 of 2024 In Re: Keya Saha Mr. Anuj Kr. Mishra Mr. Rhiddiman Mukherjee Mr. Anousko Das Mr. Soujanyo Pattanayak ... For the Petitioner Since the innocuous prayer of the petitioner is for expeditious disposal of G. R. Case no. 3863 of 2013 pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 5th Court, Sealdah, South 24 Parganas the matter may be considered without service of notice upon the opposite parties. The opposite parties shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the case.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that after charge was framed in July 16, 2016, several dates for examination of witnesses were fixed by the learned trial Court. The examination of P.W. 1 is still continuing. The prosecution has sought accommodation before the learned trial Court on multiple occasions.
In view of the age of the case, learned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial within two years from the next date of hearing fixed before him without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law. Learned Public Prosecutor appearing before the learned trial Court is requested to render all possible assistance to the learned trial Court for expeditious disposal of the matter within the specified time frame.
On prayer of the petitioner liberty is granted to serve a copy of this order upon the learned Public Prosecutor before the learned trial Court and the private opposite parties at the earliest. CRR 5001 of 2024 is disposed of.
