No. 205 under Police Station Haldia, District Purba Medinipur as specifically mentioned in paragraph 2 of the writ petition. The grievance of the petitioner is that in spite of an application being filed under the provisions of Right to Information Act, no effective information has been supplied to the petitioner in respect of the aforesaid plots of land.

Mr. Jena, learned advocate appearing for the respondent no.8 supplies a letter dated 9th December, 2025 and submits that the said letter was issued to the learned advocate on record of the petitioner furnishing the necessary information.

By referring to the said information Mr. Jena submits that all the plots as referred to in paragraph 2 of the writ petition was subject

matter of two acquisition proceedings one being L.A. Case No. 20/62-63 and the other being L.A. 11/63-64. He further submits that the lands were acquired and handed over to the Shyama Prosad Mookerjee Port, Kolkta on 24th June, 1963 and 24th March, 1965 respectively. Mr. Chatterjee, learned advocate appears for the State. He submits that the plots referred to in paragraph 2 of the writ petition were acquired in accordance with law and compensation amount has also been paid. The primary grievance as it appears from the writ petition was that the petitioner was not aware as to whether the plots mentioned in paragraph 2 of the writ petition was subject matter of any acquisition proceeding or not. In view of the reply given under the provisions of the Right to Information Act, nothing survives to be decided in the instant writ petition.

Accordingly, WPA 28144 of 2025 stands disposed of leaving the petitioner free to take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

There shall be however no order as to costs.
