The facts of the case reflect that the respondent no.7 happens to be his younger son.

The petitioner complained to the police authorities but, no assistance was rendered to him.

Mr. Ahmed, learned advocate for the State, submits that the police authorities are trying their level best to be in touch with the petitioner but, may be because of change of address, the police authorities could not establish any contact with the petitioner.

In view of the fact that the petitioner is a Septuagenarian and intends to enter his own house where he had resided, I direct that the petitioner would at around 2.00 pm on 2nd of December, 2024 report to the Inspector-in-charge of Budge Budge Police Station, who would Depute an Officer of his choice for accompanying and/or escorting the petitioner at his own residence.

Once in a week, the police personnel would visit and assess whether any harassment is being inflicted upon the petitioner and, such arrangement would

continue for a period of four weeks.

In the meantime, the petitioner would approach before the appropriate authority under the provisions of Maintenance of Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

In case, any order is passed by the said authority, the Inspector-in-charge of the Budge Budge Police Station would ensure that such order is respected and obeyed.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 28294 of 2024 is disposed of.
