The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the refusal of the respondent-CESC Ltd. to supply a separate electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner.

Pursuant to earlier orders of Court, the Report filed by the CESC Ltd. be kept with the records.

It appears from the Report that despite several attempts to install a new meter at the existing meter room at the subject premises, the private respondents have created hindrances and obstructions. It further appears from the Report that the meter room has been locked by the private respondent and the CESC Ltd. have been unable to access the meter room.

The relationship between the petitioner and the private respondents is one of brother and sister. Despite service, the private respondent remains unrepresented.

In view of the above, WPA 27906 of 2025 stands allowed by directing the CESC Ltd. to install a separate electricity connection at the existing meter room of the subject premises. In carrying out such exercise, the concerned police authorities being the respondent no. 3 will provide all assistance to the CESC Ltd., if necessary, by breaking open the padlock at the existing meter room. The necessary cost and expenses for carrying out the above exercise shall be borne exclusively by the petitioner. The petitioner will also take necessary steps for installation of the main switch at the existing meter room. The above exercise is to be carried out as expeditiously as possible and preferably within two weeks from the date of communication of this order.
