No. 29 CHC Rejected C.R.M.(A) 5355 of 2023 In Re:- An application for anticipatory bail under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with Jamuria Police Station Case No. 8 of 2023 dated 06.01.2023 under Sections 294A/ 419/420/ 465/ 467/ 468/ 469/ 470/ 471/ 474/ 409/120B of the Indian Penal Code and under Sections 4/7(3) of the Lotteries (Regulation) Act.

And In the matter of : Pawan Kumar @ Pawan Kumar Jhunjhunwala ...... petitioner Mr. Sourav Chatterjee, Mr. Rajiv Mullick, Mr. Soumya Nag ....for the petitioner Mr. Debasish Roy, Ld. P.P.

Mr. Rudradipta Nandy, Ms. Sayanti Santra ....for the State Materials in the Case Diary suggest that, petitioner was involved in the printing and selling of fake lottery tickets. Public were therefore misled and duped with regard thereto.

Considering the gravity of the offence and involvement of the petitioner in the incident, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

This application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected. CRM(A) 5355 of 2023 is disposed of.
